Prior to his retirement, Sgt. Grimshaw (William Hartnell) takes on a bet that he can produce his first ever champion platoon by altering his approach, from barking orders to kindly encouragement. The ensemble cast features Bob Monkhouse, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Shirley Eaton, Kenneth Connor, Bill Owen, Eric Barker, Terry Scott, and Cyril Chamberlain.
